Abberton, Fr. Francis
Curate between 1963 and 1965. 

Agnes, Guild of Saint
Parish group for young women operating in Saint Austin's parish in the early and mid twentieth century. 

Aloysius, Guild of Saint
Parish group for boys operating in Saint Austin's parish in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.  The guild were identified by green scarves which they wore on official occasions. 

Anne, Blessed John  (Alias John Amias)
Local martyr. John was a cloth merchant from Wakefield. 

Anne, Medieval Statue of Saint
Medieval statue in St. Austin's church, thought to originate from the Parish Church or one of the Chantry Chapels in pre-Reformation times.

Apel, Fr John (S.J.)
Assistant priest in the parish from 1914 to 1916. 

Arundel Fr Edward (S.J.)
Assistant priest in the parish in 1868. 

Augustine, Saint (Saint Austin)
Saint Augustine Bishop and Apostle of England is the patron of the parish.  Sent to England by Pope Gregory in 597AD, Augustine was not the first to preach Christianity in the country but he and his monks were the first to be sent on a formal mission from Rome and Augustine became the first Bishop of Canterbury.
