by green scarves which they wore on official occasions.

Augustine, Saint (Saint Austin)
Saint Augustine Bishop and Apostle of England is the patron of the
parish. Sent to England by Pope Gregory in 597AD, Augustine was not
the first to preach Christianity in the country but he and his monks were
the first to be sent on a formal mission from Rome and Augustine became
the first Bishop of Canterbury.
