Barker, Fr. Colin
Curate between 1961 and 1963. 

Barnes, Fr. David
Curate between 1977/8. 

Baron, Fr John (S.J.)
Third Jesuit superior to run the parish between 1854 and 1869.  Fr Baron officiated at the opening of the old St. Austin's school and oversaw the first major refurbishment of the church buildings. 

Barr, Canon Hugh
Parish Priest of Saint Austin's between 1986 and 1998. 

Bazaars
Grand events held to raise money for the parish (particularly the schools) in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. 

Bench Rents
Fees charged from more wealthy parishioners who had specific benches allocated for their own use each week. 

Benedictine Nuns
Order of nuns occupying Heath Old Hall in Wakefield in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. 

Benedict, Mother
Mother superior of the Benedictine nuns at Heath Hall (see above). 

Birch, Fr Henry (S.J.)
Assistant priest in 1890. 

Bodewig, Fr. Antony (S.J.)
Assistant priest from 1880 - 1882. 

Borscht, Fr. Francis (S.J.)
Assistant priest in 1886. 

Boulton, RL & Sons
Local construction firm employed  in 1921 for the creation of the Calvary War Memorial which stands outside St Austin's. 

Bowen, Sister Genevieve
Sister of Charity of Saint Paul based at Saint Joseph's convent and teaching at the schools between 1867 and 1869. 

Boylan, Fr. Bernard
Curate between 1967 and 1971 

Boys Brigade
Saint Austin's branch of the Boys Brigade  flourished between the two World Wars and ended in the mid 1930's when the local leader left the area. 

Boys Guild
Alternative title for the Guild of St. Aloysius. 

Bradley, Fr. George
Curate between 1956 and 1961. 

Brady, Fr. John (S.J.)
Assistant priest in 1927-29 

Bridge, Fr. James (S.J.)
The last Jesuit superior to take charge of Saint Austin's.  Fr Bridge was in charge between 1930 and 1931. 

Briggs, Dr (Bishop of Beverley)
Dr Briggs was the guest of honour and performed the opening ceremony for Saint Austin's School in 1859. 

Brotherton, Mr E.A.  (MP)
Local MP and wealthy patron of the parish in the early 1900's who attended and supported at least one of the parish Bazaars. 

Byrne, Fr. Michael
Curate between 1975 and 1980
