Petre, Fr. Thomas (S.J.)
One of the Jesuit chaplains to Walton Hall in 1729. It is believed
that Fr. Petre may have died while at Walton.

Power, Fr. Thomas
One of the first secular clergy at St. Austins from 1931 to 1940.
Prison
Wakefield prison's Catholic chaplains were supplied by St. Austin's
parish for many years from 1863 to the 1990's. One of the first recorded
chaplains was Fr. Alfred White in 1865. The duties passed to Fr.
Malachi Larkin in Airedale parish during the 1990's.
Protestant Reformation Society
Organisation which was attempting to establish a basis in Wakefield
during the 1830's. At least one of their meetings was attended by
Charles Waterton who made sure that the Catholic presence in Wakefield
was not under-estimated.
